WHAT WE LIKE
If price tag keeps you away from hard-anodized aluminum and makes ending up with traditional nonstick pots and pans, why don’t consider this T-fal Ultimate. When talking about cooking quality, this 12-piece set under $150 (for retail price) amazingly does its work far more its cost. We love the thermo temperature indicator, the circular spot inside the pot, which will turn to red when it’s ready for cooking. The performance is satisfied for evenly heating with no burns, especially good for gas stoves. Another good feature is the surface; it’s truly non-stick and non-scratching. Frankly, we really surprise that this economical cookware does the better than some pricier products. It provides totally nonstick for oil-free cuisines, as well as allows for metal utensil and dishwasher (which need to re-season every certain time). Also, the Teflon finish doesn’t contain PFOAs, lead or cadmium. The whole construction feels well built than normal economical grade. The weight is quite light for the pros but may be preferable for some home cooks. The soft silicone handles are oven-safe and well ergonomic. Best of all, these pots and pans are less expensive than many things in your countertops. For more reviews, T-fal Ultimate received the #1 rating from Cook’s Illustrated for great budget choice. It got satisfied rating, B+, from Good Housekeeping. We’ve found its successful stories from real users all-around; most reviewers were pleased from reasonable price, over expectation performance and scratch resistant surfaces. WHAT WE DON’T LIKE
Some users weren’t happy for the light weight that makes sliding off the cooktop or griller. This makes them have to hold it when stirring. Moreover, many reviewers said there’s no lid for the large pan available. Though labeled dishwasher-safe, some users experienced some problems of peeled or discolored coats. Other issues are about handles which come loose easily which are annoyingly required re-tightening too often. The Verdict
